YSK intends to establish a Youth Skills Centre that will offer critical opportunities to young persons to access and utilize youth friendly training services on life skills, livelihood skills, leadership skills and other capacity building needs depending on challenges the young generation face from time to time.

The centre will enroll youths from YSK child support programme with the aim of empowering them with skills that will enable them to earn a living in support of their needs and those of their families out there in the community.

Among the skills envisaged are Dressmaking and Tailoring ,Capentry and Joinery ,Masonary and plumbing ,motor vehicle mechanic,electronic appliances reapir, art work and weaving ,embroidery and knitting . Others include catering skills , food and beaverage ,soap and detergent making ,computer etc.

During school holidays the Skills Centre will be available for youths in upper priamry and secondary schools mainly during thematiuc camping and workshops tailor made to impart knowlegde to them in various topics of interest and offer guidance and counselling to the students before going back to school.
